NSPCC Event for Parents- Thursday 23rd March, 2pm
To children, online life is real life. There is no real difference between the people they speak to on social media and their friends in school. Families often think they know exactly what their children get up to online, and that they understand all the apps and sites their children use.
I have arranged for the NSPCC to come into school on Thursday 23rd March, at 2pm to talk to parents. To register your place please go to https://lowerpeover.parentseveningsystem.co.uk This is a free event.
Teaching and Learning Review- Tuesday 31st January 2017
I have arranged a whole school teaching and learning review for next week. This is an annual event to support school developments and strategic planning. The inspector will be in school from 8am. She will also be monitoring attendance and punctuality.
If you would like to make a donation to the Children’s Society and haven’t already done so, please send in your money to the office. Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who has completed the online survey. The survey will remain open until Monday 30th January, if you wish to complete it. We have had an excellent response so far.
Math’s Evening Workshop for parents/carers….
This year FLPS have kindly agreed to support the ‘Primary Math’s Reasoning Project’ which will directly benefit all children in school. I have arranged for Toni Reid, math’s consultant, to introduce this project to parents and demonstrate strategies used. The event will be in school on Tuesday 14th March (from 6-7.30 pm). Please log on to https://lowerpeover.parentseveningsystem.co.uk to book your place. This event will be paid for by the school fund. This workshop is suitable for parents of ALL age groups. Thank you to the parents who have already booked a place.
Quicksticks Hockey Tournament
On Monday 16th January, 3 children from Year 5 and 3 children from Year 6 represented Lower Peover in the Quicksticks Hockey Tournament at Holmes Chapel High School. In the group stages we drew 2 games and won 1 game to finish 2nd in the group on goal difference. Unfortunately we lost our final game 1 – 0 resulting in us finishing 4th. A huge well done to the team, (that was put together at the last minute). The children should be very proud and pleased with the result; they showed respect and great sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Well done to you all! – Miss Watson
Christingle and The Children’s Society
FLPS would like to thank the following for all their help and support in creating what, I am sure all who attended would agree was a beautiful service:
- Martin & Janet Bromley for sourcing all the elements and coordinating with The Children’s Society
- Team Christingle for assembling and handing out the Christingles
- The teachers, staff and Rev. Jane for all their hard work in preparing the service with the children
- The parents, families and friends who attended the service and donated to The Children’s Society
- And last, but most importantly, the children who all sang so beautifully and read so well at the service.
