FLPS MEETING- THURS 29TH SEPT, 6.30PM
Without the dedication and hard work of the core FLPS team, Lower Peover would not have the wonderful resources we have and need. The annual AGM has been arranged for 6.30pm, on Thursday 29th September. It would be wonderful to see new members who can drive the fund raising forward for 2016-2017. Please come and join us! Last year the FLPS team raised enough money to purchase new ‘Clever Touch Boards’ for each class- such a brilliant resource! At the meeting they will inform you about all the other things they have provided for your children.
BEHAVIOUR SYSTEMS- PARENTS/CARERS MEETING
Thank you for joining us to discuss the way forward with the Lower Peover behaviour system. The Dojo reward system will be live in the whole school from Monday 26th September.
Mrs. Perry is reviewing our approach to homework. She would like to invite parents/carers to a consultation meeting on Thursday 13th October at 2pm. Please join us.
PRIMARY SCHOOLS GAMES DAY REMINDER
We will be holding a whole school games day on Tuesday 27th September, to which all parents are invited to attend. This will be a fun and exciting day for the children in which we will be showcasing the various sporting skills and activities that the children will be learning throughout each year.
The morning session will be the Developmental phase (Key Stage 1) and will run from 9:15 – 11:30 (with a break from 10:30-10:50), with the children taking part in fun, skill-based sessions. The afternoon session will be the Competitive phase (Key Stage 2) and will run from 1:00 – 2:30. The children will take part in an intra-form competition where each house will compete in a variety of sporting events. All children to wear their PE kits as normal. You are more than welcome to collect your children at the end of the afternoon session. If you have any queries, please feel free to contact the school.
The ‘Young Voices Team’ have asked us for our final numbers for the concert next February. A letter has been emailed out to parents/ carers in Year 4,5 and 6. Please return the letter if you would like your child to attend. After the deadline of 23rd September, we will not be able to allocate and additional seats. Thank you.
This has been arranged for Wednesday 26th October from 9.30-11.30 or 1.30 -3pm. If you know anyone who is interested in joining Lower Peover Primary School in September 2017 (or before), I would be grateful if you pass on this information.
Elaine, our school cook, has had a meeting with the catering supervisor from Edsential. Edsential provide the Cheshire West and Chester school meal choices. After considering some alternatives, we hope to make slight changes to the menus, commencing the week beginning Monday 3rd October. The proposed changes are as follows:
Week 1: Tuesday, macaroni cheese in place of the jacket potato. Thursday, an additional choice of chicken pasta.
Week 2: Tuesday, omelette plus wedges in place of jacket potato. Thursday, lasagne or ploughmans.
Week 3: Tuesday: tuna pasta bake in place of the jacket potato. Thursday, tomato and herb pasta in place of the jacket potato.
Once the menus have been confirmed they will be available on the school website.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
A reminder that children must only bring water in their water bottles. Children with pierced ears can only wear small stud like earrings- in line with school uniform policy.
