Cinderella Rockerfella

What a wonderful production from the Year 5 and Year 6 children. I haven’t laughed so much, for ages!  The atmosphere was electric and audience participation was superb.  Thank you to everyone who was involved in this production.

Highways Team

I met with the Highways Team this morning- and saw many of you as I was standing at the bottom of ‘The Cobbles’. They did witness some interesting driving! (not from school parents). The stretch of road doesn’t meet the criteria for lowering the speed limit to 30mph, however they will arrange a speeding survey of the area. The team will re mark the white lines on the road and paint some SLOW signs on the approaches to the bottom of ‘The Cobbles’. Kelly says thank you to everyone who is still emailing her pictures of the cars driving dangerously. She asks that you also call 101 to report the cars and their number plates, so it can be followed up. Thank you.

Governors Update

Following some parent feedback to School Governors we agreed at our last meeting to review the Behaviour Policy.  The newly appointed Deputy Head, Mr Jason Haslam will lead on this review when he takes up his position in September.  He will listen to pupil and parent voice while evolving the current Behaviour Policy with a view to concentrating on rewarding good behaviour. We anticipate the new policy will be in place towards the end of the Autumn term.

SATS Results

Governors would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Year 6 pupils on their excellent SATS results which were well above the national average.  We are also able to celebrate excellent Phonic results in Year 1, SATS results in Year 2, and the EYFS (Reception class) outcomes which are much higher than national averages.   Of course none of this would be possible without the continued dedication and hard work of teaching staff and volunteers so a big thank you goes out to all!

Congratulations to Jacob Hughes who won the church fete smartie challenge, by collecting 121 items in his tube! Amazing!
