Assessment for Learning Questionnaire

Thank you to the parents/carers who have already completed this survey, if you haven’t already done so I would be grateful if you complete it with your child/ children as soon as possible.

Quite a number of parents have been in touch with me regarding the traffic situation at the bottom of ‘The Cobbles’. Thank you to the parents who have emailed Lindsey Whitehead regarding your concerns( including photographic evidence) If you wish to contact Lindsey re your thoughts please email her at

The more people who email the greater the impact will be.

Well done to all the Year 6 children who have demonstrated such a wonderful attitude and approach to SATS this week. The children were extremely well prepared (thank you to Mrs Perry and the team who supported booster sessions) and we look forward to seeing the outcome of this testing on July 5th. Key Stage 1 SATS will take place during a two week period starting Monday 16th May. The Phonics screening for Year 1 will be undertaken the week starting Monday 13th June.  The NFER tests for Years 3,4 and 5 will be implemented over a two-week period, starting Monday 20th June. The NFER support our school assessments and prepare children for the rigor of SATS in Year 6.

Lost Property

We have quite a lot of lost property in school. This will be available to view at the May Queen Fete- please have a look. After this the items will be given to FLPS.

Gripping Yarns

Gripping Yarns will be visiting school on Wednesday 18th May. This is a story telling project on internet safety for Key Stage 2. ‘Place of safety’ was written for the Cheshire Education Safeguarding in Education to promote safe use of the Internet and electronic communications media, encouraging children to adopt an attitude of healthy scepticism towards what people tell them online, while stressing that using the Internet can and should be great fun. The cost of this will be paid for from the school fund.

Best wishes for a lovely weekend. I look to seeing you all at the May Queen Fete.
