We are working with SCHOOL PUPIL TRACKER Online (SPTO) to give you access to some of your child’s information. Your child is set half termly targets to work towards in reading, writing and maths. These are shared with the children in a variety of ways depending on their age. On Friday 26th your child will bring home a letter giving you information on how you can access your child’s information and look at the targets set. We hope you find this facility useful in supporting your child’s education and allowing us to work together.

Each half term the class teacher will be basing their literacy/ theme work around a high quality text. The book will be noted on their curriculum newsletters. If you wish to support your child’s learning at home, we encourage you the purchase a book for them. The school has bought sets for each class to use in school.

There are two parents’ evenings allocated during this half term. Tuesday 22nd March and Thursday 31st March. We are now using an online system for appointments. Due to the commitments of the teachers it is essential we keep appointments to these two days. This system is now live. Please go to the following page to book your appointment.

For your convenience we now have some ties in school which can be purchased from the office. (Elasticated cost £5.50 and non- elasticated cost £6.50). Please pay for these on parentpay. Children will need to wear a shirt and tie for the Easter performance on Wednesday 23rd March.

The school choir will be going to Manchester on Tuesday 1st March to perform in the annual concert (years 4, 5, 6). As in previous years the children may arrive at school later on the Wednesday morning, as it is such a long day. We ask that the children are in school by lunch time.

There will be an assembly introducing Judo sessions to the children on Wednesday 2nd March. Following this, a letter will be sent home for you to register your interest in Judo at school. This activity is during the day and is for any age group.

A group of Year 2 children are leading a bake sale on Tuesday 1st March at 2.30pm. If you wish your child to purchase a cake, please send in 50p. Thank you.

It is my pleasure to inform you that two Year 6 children – Hermione Mason and Demi Stubbs – have bravely decided to use their running ability to raise funds in aid of Sports Relief. They will run over two weekends – March 5th/6th and March 18th/19th. Each day will comprise a gruelling 6.5 mile run, meaning that by the end they will have completed an entire Marathon! If you or your child would like to sponsor the girls in support of Sports Relief, you can donate some money on PARENTPAY. Along with the rest of the school, I would like to wish the girls the best of luck in their attempt. I look forward to seeing the photos of them making it past the finishing line(s)!

A reminder that the children may dress up as a character on Thursday 3rd March and bring in their favourite book. Please remember to send in your photos for the competition noted in last week’s newsletter. The children will be given the opportunity to choose a book on either Friday 4th March or Monday 7th March. A slip will be sent home- if you wish to purchase the book please return the slip with the correct payment. Alternatively, Kathy McIntyre will run the book fair for parents from 2pm on Tuesday 8th March, your child may join you for this event.

Thank you to Rev. Jane Lloyd for presenting Bibles to the Year 3 and Reception classes. We hope the children enjoy reading them.

We have received notice that the school will be required as a polling station on Thursday 23rd June for the Referendum. Therefore school will be CLOSED on this day. Also, as a reminder school is also closed on Wednesday 22nd June as an inset day for the Cheshire Show.

Due to the school now being closed on the 23rd June, Sports Day will now be Thursday 30th June.

On Thursday 3rd March a number of staff will be requalifying to use the AED (automated external defibrillator). The AED is located in outside the school office.

Best Wishes for a lovely weekend,
Sharon Dean (Head Teacher)
