Governor news

I am pleased to announce that at our recent full Governor meeting the following people were elected.

  • Chair of Governors – James Forshaw (parent of Freddie in Y6)
  • Vice Chair of Governors – Martin Hughes (parent of Jacob in Y1)

Mrs Louise Lawton and Mr Tim Knowles were also re-elected as PCC members and Mr Alun McIntyre has joined us as the Trustee Representative.

Our thanks go to all the Governors for their hard work and ongoing support of our school.

An Exciting Start to Wednesday

As I am sure your children have told you we began Wednesday with the fire alarm going off at 8.55am.

School was evacuated and the children taken into church, where they did a Harvest Rehearsal. Two fire engines arrived to find a problem with a fuse box in a stockroom. The fire service dealt with the incident quickly and electrical engineers have since dealt with the fuse box and all is safe.

Both staff and children responded to the situation sensibly and calmly and school was emptied extremely quickly, showing that our procedures work well and the fire alarms etc. are in good working order.

As you may be aware there are ‘Spooky’ Discos for both key stages on Monday 19th October run by FLPS.

KS1 will be from after school until 5.00pm and KS2 from 5.30 – 7.00pm

Tickets for this event are available on Parent Pay until Monday lunchtime.

I’m sure it will be lots of fun.
